What’s the value of air cargo?

In the early twentieth century the transport of mail was the major, if not only, source of income for the fledgling air cargo industry.

Today, the industry has developed into the preferred mode of transport not only for mail but also for the global economy’s new high value-to-weight manufactured products such as microelectronics, pharmaceuticals, aerospace components, and medical devices.

Each year over US$6.4 trillion worth of goods, approximately 35% of world trade by value, is transported by air.

Air cargo connects the world. It provides a vital bridge to the global market.
Air cargo saves lives. Each year over $250-billion worth of temperature-sensitive medicine is sold.
Air cargo supports the economic sustainability of many remote communities.

Join us in Berlin from 15 - 17 March 2016 for the 10th World Cargo Symposium where we will not only reflect back over the past ten years of this important event, but also facilitate robust discussion and attention to the broad logistic, economic and social benefits that air cargo brings to the global economy.
